I am almost a wife!

So with just about 10 days left, we are really getting down to business. We are doing so much of this wedding ourselves-- that I am starting to get a bit nervous about the actual day and how things will work out. We have not hired a wedding coordinator, so I hope that all of the family and friends that are so gracious enough to offer their hands, will be able to put the decor up on the day of. I wish that I could help decorate (which I still am trying to find a way toooo) but we booked the set up time at the venue so late that I will have to be getting ready during the decorating phase. I am so thankful for their help and I can't wait to see how it turns out. As the days come closer, I am getting more and more excited to marry Pat. He is my best friend and my rock and I can't wait to go to sleep and wake up next to him everyday for the rest of my life. He is a gift from God and I so thankful for all of the wonderful times we have had and have yet to come.

Here are just a couple more crafts that we have finished for the big day...
These are a bunch of twine strings with little yellow, green, grey, and cream colored ribbons hanging from them. We may use them down the isle but are still deciding!
These are some good old paper chains like we used to make for the Christmas countdown in elementary school. We have a couple yellow, grey, and craft brown to hang in some of the trees...
Lastly, we made this little ring bearer pillow out of burlap and ribbon. It was pretty easy to make and it is perfect for the wedding! Our current project include stamping our favors, putting together our programs, making the table assignments, making food labels, etc.

Also, Pat and I did get the apartment I mentioned previously! It is SO pefect in every way and we are more than excited to move in and call it OUR home. Thanks for the prayers!

Anyways, I may be MIA during all of this last week madness. Have a great week!

Apartment hunting!

Pat and I have been searching around the area for some housing over the past month. We have not been very successful--until recently! I was called off of work at the hospital yesterday (Thank you God!), so we went out yesterday and found two potential apartments. They are both in the downtown/old town Fullerton area. The one that we are REALLY interested in is about a block off of the main road. There are shops, restaurants, coffee and tea houses, markets, etc., all within a walking distance. We love the area and would be so pleased if we were to get a place around there. Pat will be working at his parent's restaurant in the Mission Viejo area, as well as in a museum--either in LA or Santa Ana. I will be going to school in Azusa and will be working at UCI Medical Center. This location is perfect as it is right in the middle for the both of us. We are so excited and can't wait to hear back from the owner about the property. It is so exciting looking for our first place together. It is right around the corner and will be here before we know it! Keep your fingers crossed!

I am also on the look out for my veil and jewelry that I will be wearing for the wedding. I just had my last hair trial this past week, and I am so excited and happy with what she did. I need to find the perfect veil to blend in smoothly!
I just finished making my garter and I am so happy with it. I have never made one before, and I am quite pleased with the way it turned out!
I am also still searching for my rehearsal dinner dress. It isn't the first thing on my list of To-Dos...but it is starting to creep on up!
I really like this dress from Anthropologie...possible contestant?

My list of things could go on and on with our special day getting closer and closer! My goal is to stay calm and organized with all of the planning, crafting, schooling, etc.
Hope you are having a great weekend!

Crafting fun!

So Pat and I recently just experimented with chalk paint! We went to the local thrift store and picked up a picture frame with the glass included. We had heard that this paint can basically go on any surface, so we thought we would try glass. We took out the glass insert and brushed on the black paint. We let it dry and then tested its ability with a stick of white chalk. To our surprise, it actually worked-- really well actually, and the chalk stays on and wipes off really easily. We are super happy with it and plan on making a couple more of these!

This is a picture of the chalk board in the frame... Voila!

...We love this frame so much--it has a piece of twine running throughout the wood frame.
Happy fourth of July--I hope you all have a safe and fun-filled day!
